The Pleasant Grove House Restoration

Located in Fluvanna County Virginia, the Pleasant Grove House was restored to house the county Parks and Recreation Department as well as a museum focused on the historic canal based transportation from the 1800s. Funded by a Federal Transportation Enhancement Grant, administered by the Virginia Department of Transportation, and overseen by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, multiple stakeholders were invested in a complex project that sought to maintain fidelity to the past while allowing flexibility for future. Dialogue + Design was responsible for administering the construction of the renovation and was subcontracted to Land Planning and Design.
