Christine Gyovai
Christine Gyovai is a professional facilitator, coach, and expert in building resilient communities. She also teaches yoga, meditation, and loves to be outside. Through her work as the Principal of Dialogue + Design Associates and host of the Yes! We Rise podcast, she guides civic leaders and community members to envision a more sustainable future and come together to make that vision a reality. A recipient of the Paul Dulaney Conservation Award, Christine has spent the last 20 years facilitating change nationally with a focus on Central Appalachia and the Chesapeake Bay. The granddaughter of a coal miner and a firefly scientist, she facilitates networks of change-makers and uses skills that include consensus-building, community planning, ecological design and mindfulness practices. Christine loves sailing, yoga and paddleboarding, and she lives at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia with her husband, two children, and an assortment of fruit trees and blueberry bushes.
Reed Muehlman
Reed Muehlman is a registered Architect, illustrator, and environmental designer. Mr. Muehlman is a LEED Accredited Professional, and holds certification from the National Charrette Institute, and in permaculture design and urbanism. He has over twenty years of experience working in the architecture field, and has consulted on several diverse project types including academic master plans, residential visioning and permaculture design, and dairy design. He holds Masters degrees in Architecture and Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia, and Bachelor’s degrees in Art and Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Mr. Muehlman designed the passive solar straw bale house he and his wife live in with their two children in central Virginia.
Philippa Belsches
Philippa Belsches is a project manager and consultant with Dialogue + Design Associates and has over 15 years of professional experience in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Her focus areas include program management, policy analysis, strategic planning, and partnership development. Philippa is committed to supporting organizations and projects that strive to foster equity, build sustainability, and create a positive social impact. Philippa holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from UVA’s Frank Batten School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) from Georgetown University. She lives in central Virginia.
Alexandria Sentilles
Alexandria Sentilles is a consultant with Dialogue + Design Associates supporting projects through graphic design and writing. Alexandria has over five years of experience working as a graphic designer, using her skills in Adobe Creative Suite to consult with clients and organizations across multiple sectors to create visually appealing products. She holds a M.U.E.P in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Sustainable Development from Appalachian State University. In addition to operating her graphic design and consultation business, she works as an environmental planner for an engineering firm in North Carolina.
Andie Waugh
Andie Waugh is a Marketing and Project Assistant at Dialogue+Design, supporting projects through digital communications, graphic design and facilitation assistance. With over 5 years of experience in conservation and community engagement, Andie is passionate about environmental education and stewardship. She holds a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from North Carolina State University, where she studied Eco-social Transitions in Spain. Currently residing in North Carolina, Andie enjoys spending time in nature, reading and making pottery.
Sam Wilson Hoff
Sam Wilson Hoff is a second-year Master of Architecture student at UVA. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 3D Design with a minor in cinema from the University of Iowa. The 3D Design major encompassed studies in furniture, product, and interior design, which gave Sam a love for design at many scales. He hopes to take his passion for design and visual storytelling into the field and scale of architecture. Sam grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and currently lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.
